Welcome, VISICS (VISion for Industry Communications and Services) is part of the Centre for Processing Speech and Images (PSI) within the K.U.Leuven. With a staff of more than 30 people it is one of the biggest groups worldwide working in the field of computer vision. The group has close links with the computer vision group BIWI at ETH Zürich and has many relations with other research institutions (University of Oxford, INRIA, KTH, EPFL, ...) around the world. VISICS wins Best Paper Award at CVPR 2007 in Minneapolis (USA). In direct contact with industry (consulting, bi-lateral projects, international projects) VISICS works together with major companies as well as with SMEs. The group has also been the starting point of the spin-off companies ICOS, Eyetronics and GeoAutomation. The range of topics on which research is done is extensive and includes: 3D modeling, database retrieval, augmented reality, inspection, remote sensing, navigation, person identification, object recognition,...
