Projects

VISICS has been involved in numerous projects during the last years. Many projects took place on a European level within EU programmes, such as BRITE-EURAM, ESPRIT, ACTS, Environment & Climate, IST,... VISICS took a leading role as coordinator in the VIVA, VANGUARD, IMPACT and IMPROOFS projects. Other international projects were situated in the EUREKA programme, together with the European Space Agency (ESA) and as a cooperation network with American Universities (CalTech, MIT,...) within a joint NSF-EU programme.

In the 5th Framework Programme of the European Commission, VISICS was a partner in several IST projects (CIMWOS, 3D MURALE, VIBES, STAR, CogViSys, ERMIS, INVIEW). In the 6th Framework Programme, VISICS takes a leading role in the Network on Excellence in Processing Open Cultural Heritage (EPOCH) and is involved in REVEAL-THIS, CLASS and DIRAC.

In Belgium VISICS is involved in programmes sponsored by the Federal Government (IUAP programme), the Flemish Government (IWT and FWO) and the University (GOA).

As it would take us too far to have a description of all projects performed by the VISICS group, you will find on these pages a selection of the most recent projects, which give a good overview of the research done within the group.
