Machine vision in remote sensing (MAVIRIC)

This European network aimed at investigating the role that high-resolution aerial images and satellite data can play in the market of remote sensing. In particular, its goal was to see what role the 1 m resolution, visual satellite images would play, that was becoming available at the time of the project. Several players from academia and industry were brought together in a series of workshops and brainstorm meetings to discuss these matters, both from a research as a commercial perspective. The outcome of these meetings has been published in a series of reports from the European Commission's Joint Research Centre at Ispra (Italy). The final report is JRC EUR 18755.
